Vă spuneam în urmă cu ceva timp despre situațiile cărora trebuie să le facem față. Mai mult, se pare că noi am făcut o greșeală spunându-le oamenilor legii despre ce fac colegi lor, și aici mă refer la acel Costel care venea cu mașina personală (un logan albastru) și ne înjura, ne făcea în tot felul și la acel individ în civil, care a scos arma la noi, de față cu copii minori.

I was telling you a while ago about everything we have to face every day. Apparently we made a mistake when we told the law enforcement officers about what their colleagues are doing, and now I’m referring to Costel, the guy who used to come with his personal car (blue Logan) and would swear at us or pull out his weapon in front of our children.

Se pare că vor să mascheze puțin treaba, să o mușamalizeze, cum se și poartă de altfel la noi, în Romania. Aceștia au făcut o sesizare impotriva noastră și zilnic vine un echipaj de la Poliția Locală pentru a ne controla. Dar, spre mirarea lor și a noastră, se pare că mulți nici nu știu despre noi. După părerea lor suntem cuminți. Au venit și au văzut cum vin copiii de la școală, apoi i-au văzut pe cei mici de 2 ani, 5 ani cum dorm. De fiecare dată au găsit curățenie pe stradă, dar, mai ales, au văzut că nu deranjăm vecinii.

It would appear that they are trying to hide this fact, the way that it usually happens here in Romania. They made a complaint against us and we are being controlled every day by the police. But to their surprise as well as ours, it seems that most police officers don’t even know about us. According to them, we aren’t doing anything wrong. They came and saw are children coming back from the school, or the younger kids (2-year-olds, 5-year-olds) taking a nap. Every time they came they saw the street was clean, but most of all they saw that we’re not disturbing our neighbours.

Problema e alta: avem cu totții anchetele făcute și nu ne spune nimeni nimic. Ultima persoană a fost săptămâna trecută la unul din birourile care se ocupă cu anchetele sociale, iar acolo i-au fost comunicate urmatoarele: că știu ei că în stradă nu doarme niciun copil și că mai sunt 2,3 familii afară, în cabanele improvizate de noi. Au mai spus că vor veni noaptea în control, să vadă cu ochii lor câte familii sunt și câți copii dorm în stradă și să mai avem răbdare până pe data de 27,28 -01-2015 când se va face o comisie generală la AFI [1] pentru rezolvarea locuințelor. Afară în stradă sunt 13 familii, 60 de persoane, dintre care 12 copii cu vârste diferite: 2 ani ,5 ani, 7 ani ,8 ani, 16 ani, 13 ani,14 ani, 10 ani, 2 ani si 5 luni, 15 ani și 6 ani, copil cu handicap sever. Toți aceștia sunt afară, dorm în barăcile improvizate. Ne rugăm la Dumnezeu să facă dreptate și să ne scoată din acest iad.

Our problem is that we all have our social inquiries up to date but nobody tells us anything. Last time we were visited by social workers was last week, and they were told that there is no child sleeping on the street and that there are only 2-3 families living in improvised shelters. They also said that they will come to check us at night time and see for themselves how many children are sleeping outside, as well as that we should be patient until the 27th or 28th of January, when a special committee from AFI [1] will meet to try and find solutions to our housing problem. There are 13 families living on the street, 60 people, out of which 12 are children aged 2, 5, 7, 8, 16, 13, 14, 10, 2 and 5 months, 15, 6 and one severely disabled. All of them are outside, sleeping in improvised shelters. We pray to God for justice and to get out of this hell hole.

Sperăm că această comisie se va ține si lucrurile se vor îndrepta și vom primi locuițte pentru copii noștri care s-au îmbolnăvit de răceala, infecții la stomac, dureri de cap sau de dinți, multă oboseală. Doar cu ajutorul vostru, cu susținerea voastră putem să reușim și să înduplecăm inimile acestor oameni.

We are hoping that the committee will take place and that things will enter a right path and we’ll receive housing for our children who are ill with the flu, stomach aches, headaches, tooth aches or exhaustion. După cele povestite în ultima postare, au fost chemați mai mulți polițiști, care au început să caute ceartă cu noi, încercând prin orice mjloc să se ia de noi.
Joi, pe 15 ianuarie, pe după-masă, a ieșit o nouă mașină dinăuntrul curții, încărcată cu lemne – formate din bucăți din fosta noastră mobilă și din tâmplăria pe care am făcut-o caselor.
Unul din oameni din comunitate, vrând să intre în baraca sa, a recut prin fața porții și atunci un polițist în civil a venit la el, l-a împins și i-a vorbit urât. Omul s-a apărat, de aici iscându-se un scandal mai mare. Au ieșit afară oameni din comunitate, inclusiv copiii și vecini din clădirile din jur. Polițistul în civil însă, nu a ezitat să scoată armamentul din dotare – ce părea a fi un pistol cu bile de cauciuc și un baston telescopic – pe care le-a folosit să amenințe copii și femeile din comunitate. A tras un foc în aer, amenințând-l pe primul bărbat de care s-a legat. Copii s-au speriat și au început să strige. Apoi a apărut dinăuntru un alt polițist în civil care, vazându-l pe primul cu arma și ce face, a încercat să-l potolească, spunându-i să își pună arma în teacă și să meargă înapoi în curte. Încerca asfel să aplaneze lucrurile, să facă ordine.

After the events described in our last entry, more cops were called, who started to look for reasons to start any scandal with us.
On Thursday the 15th of January in the afternoon, a new truck came out of the yard, packed with wood – wood out of the furniture and carpentry we had installed in our former homes.
One of the men from our community was passing by the gate of the yard on his way to his barrack when a policeman dressed in civilian’s clothes came to him, started to push him around and insult him. The man defended himself, and from this point on, a bigger scandal begun. All the people in the community came out, including the children and also the neighbours from the nearby houses. The policeman however, did not hesitate to get out his weapons – what seemed like a rubber bullet gun and a telescopic baton – and use them to threaten the man. The children got frightened and started screaming. Then another policeman got out of the yard, also wearing civilian’s clothes, and who, seeeing the first one with his gun pulled out, tried to calm him down, convincing him to put away his weapon and to get back in the yard. He was trying to calm the situation.

A doua zi, vineri, a venit un echipaj de la poliția locală. Aceștia au intrat în curtea de unde am fost evacuați, stând de vorbă cu persoanele care păzesc perimetrul – oameni de la firma de pază și de la poliția locală. Apoi au ieșit să dicute cu noi: ne-au spus să stăm liniștiți, nimeni nu va fi gonit și barăcile nu vor fi dărâmate. Mai bine să încercăm să aplanăm conflctul și să nu înrăutățim situația.
De marți – când s-a iscat primul scandal – Costel și echipa sa au fost înlocuiți cu alți polițiști care vin să-i controleze pe cei ce păzesc curtea
Toată această situație s-a ivit din cauză că oamenii din comunitate au remarcat că echipele care au venit cu camioanele să strângă lemnele nu aveau nici o autorizație și nu au semnalat începutul lucrărilor de demolare cu „Șantier în lucru”.

Next day, on Friday, a crew from the local police appeared. They went in the yard, talking to the guards, who are men from private security agencies and from the local police. Then they came out to talk to us, telling us we should rest assured, nobody will be cast out and the camp won’t be tore down. We would be better off trying to ease the conflict and not worsen the tensions with the guards, they added.
Since Tuesday – when the first scandal broke out – Costel and his team were replaced by other cops who come to check on the guards.
All of this situation happened because the community noticed that the crews skavenging for wood had no authorization to do so and never announced the beginning of the demolition of our houses with the usual, legal poster that says „Construction site / work in progress”.

În urma acestor întâmplări, vă cerem să fiți alături de noi dând mai departe postările noastre și prin orice alt mijloc cunoașteți pentru ca noi, comunitatea din tabăra de pe Vulturilor 50, să ieșim din iadul acesta. Cu sprijinul, ajutorul și solidaritatea voastră putem lupta împotriva sistemului care creează situații de felul acesta. Doar împreună putem face o presiune mai mare asupra autorităților – Primăria Generală, Primăria Sectorului 3 și Administrația Fondului Imobiliar – pentru a-i convinge să soluționeze odată situația, în condițiile în care toate familiile din comunitate au dosare de locuințe sociale complete.
Joi s-au împlinit patru luni de când am instalat tabăra de protest și, de atunci, am reușit să facem autoritățile să reacționeze și să înceapă procedurile pentru repartizarea de locuințe, după cum prevede legea. În acest moment tuturor li s-a făcut anchetă socială – aceasta fiind, de obicei, ultima etapă înaintea repartizării unei locuințe sociale. Cu toate acestea, nu se întâmplă nimic, nu știm de ce se întârzie atât și dacă se va ajunge la o rezolvare.
Oricine poate face ceva – prin cunoștiințe, idei, sprijin financiar sau prin obiecte, toate acestea sunt binevenite! Mai ales, dacă cunoașteți pe cineva care lucrează la una dn aceste instituții, poate putem afla care e situația cu dosarele noastre și la ce să ne mai așteptăm din partea lor.

After all of this, we ask of you to support us by passing on these posts and through any other means you can, so that we, the community from Vulturilor 50 could get out of this nightmare. Only with your support, help and solidarity we can fight against the system that creates situations such as this. Only together can we make a bigger pressure on the authorities – the General City Hall, the City Hall of the Sector 3, the Real-Estate Fund Administration to convince them to find a solution, given that every family in the community have full and completed social housing applications.
On Thursday, we „celebrated” four months since we set up the protest camp and, since then, we have succeded to persuade the authorities to react and start the procedures to allocate us housing, as the law obliges them. At this moment, all of the families have the social investigations done – this usually being the last step in the social housing procedure. Despite all this, nothing happens, we have no idea why this is taking so much time or if a solution will come about.
Anyone can do something – either through people they know, either ideas, or financial support or otherwise, everything is welcome! Especially if you know somebody who works in these institutions, maybe they can find out what’ going on with our applications and what to expect from them.

La mulți ani în noul an 2015! Să aveți un an plin de belșug, bucurii, reușite și sănătate.

Pentru noi 2014 a fost un an bun, dar s-a terminat cu evacuarea, statul și dormitul afară, în stradă, încercând să rezistăm frigului și unor autorități nepăsătoare. 2015 se pare că l-am început cu stângul pentru că ne este din ce în ce mai greu să găsim resurse pentru hrană și lemne de foc. Vreau doar să vă fac o mică introducere și să vă las pe voi să urmăriți un filmuleț cu evenimente recente.

A happy new year! I wish you a year of abundance, joy, success and health.

For us 2014 was a good year, but it ended rather badly – us being evicted, living on the streets, outside and striving to resist the cold and the uncaring authorities. As for 2015, we seem to have started on the wrong foot because we find it harder and harder to find resources for firewood and food. Within this text I will only roughly describe you our situation and I will let you watch the above video, which shows the recent events.

Luni dimineață, 2 mașini și un excavator au intrat să dărâme casele, fără nicio aprobare sau vreo autorizație. Au început să strice mai întâi mobila noastra, mobilier pe care noi n-am mai avut voie sa-l luăm când am fost evacuați.

Când am fost dați afară, nimeni nu ne-a făcut o hartie cu bunurile noastre. I-am luat la întrebări pe paznici și pe muncitori – dacă au autorizație sau un act pentru ce fac ei. Aceștia ne spun că așa s-a dat ordin „de sus”, că este santier în lucru și pot face ce vor, iar muncitorii și soferii mașinilor spun că ei nu știu nimic, că firma i-a trimis aici să care moloz.Dar de fapt ei cărau mobilă.

Monday morning two cars and an excavator came to demolish the houses, without any approval or authorization. They started by ruining our furniture that we were not allowed to get out of our homes at the moment of eviction.

When we were thrown out of our houses, nobody bothered to write down the things (our goods) that we were forced to leave inside the home. I questioned the guards and workers whether they have an official paper or a permit for what they were doing. They answered that they were given this order “from their superiors”, that there is a work site and they can do whatever they want. The workers say that they do not know a thing, that their employer sent them there to take away the debris. Actually, what they were taking from there is our own furniture.

Am cerut mobila pentru a o folosi la foc. De aici s-a iscat un mare scandal. Aceștia l-au sunat pe un anume Costel care lucrează ca jandarm, dar mai este folosit și la diferite intervenții. Acesta a venit îmbrăcat în civil și cu mașina personala și a inceput să ne injure, să ne agreseze. A chemat poliția pentru a ne amenda și pentru a aplana puțin lucrurile. A venit un domn care a pretins că este șef de șantier și că mâine (adică marți) ne va da și noua lemne, dar sa îi lăsăm pe ei să-și facă treaba.

Așa că au venit și a doua zi (marți) la prima oră, dar cu mai multă pază. A venit din nou domnul Costel, jandarmul. De data asta însoțit de alt coleg și cu mașina intervenției. Din nou ne amenință, spunând că ne va arăta el cine este și că doar o săptămână durează și vom fi demolați cu tot cu barăcile improvizate. Că va veni cu Rosalul și ne va lua tot. Acest lucru cu siguranță se va întâmpla pentru că la noi orice este posibil, iar cei care îmbracă una dintre uniformele statului fac abuz. Dar cu ajutorul lui Dumnezeu și cu sprijinul vostru cu siguranță vom ieși biruitori.ERE

We asked to be given this furniture, so that we could use it as firewood. And this was the reason for a great scandal. The workers called a person named Costel, a gendarme whom is involved in all kind of interventions. This Costel came dressed as a civil and driving his personal car. He started to verbally abuse us and assault us. He called the police so that they would fine us and adjust the situation. A man – who told us he was the building engineer – came and told us that the next day (Tuesday) they would give us some woods, but that we should allow them to do their work.

They came the second day, with even more guard. Costel, the gendarme, came again, but this time along with a colleague and with the institution’s car. He started again to threat us – he told us that he would show us what he could do. He told us that in a week time we would be demolished, along with our barracks. He told us that Rosal would come and would take everything we have [1]. This thing is for sure to happen, because here anything is possible and the people in uniform are among the people that are abusing us. But, with the help of God and with your support I am confident that we are to win this battle.
